Lots of players are big and strong these days. In order to handle the pace you better have strong shoulders and great core stability. Yes, this is a core strengthening anti-rotational exercise. When someone says core training for tennis, what comes to your mind? Ronan is preparing for the higher ITF Grade events and just hitting balls will not do the trick. Just about everyone can hit the ball pretty darn well in the grade 1 and even grade 2 events. (I like to refer to this as alligator walks with a pushup and a 25 lb weight on your back.) This was performed after tough training which consisted of heavy lunges, weighted chin ups, and a ton of other challenging exercises!!!
